FastEV is a newly established charge point operator and is introducing what they claim to be Sarawak’s first locally developed EV charging mobile app. Operated by SDEC Karuna JV Sdn Bhd (SKJV), the company has rolled out two EV charging sites in Kuching, featuring both AC and DC chargers.

In conjunction with the launch, FastEV is offering FREE RM100 charging credit to new users who register between 17 November 2025 and 17 February 2026.

FastEV has installed a 120kW DC charger with two CCS2 connectors at Plaza Merdeka, priced at RM1.20 per minute (equivalent to RM18 for 15 minutes). Additionally, a 22kW AC charger has been placed at The Waterfront Hotel, charged at RM0.30 per minute (RM18 per hour).

All charging sessions must be activated and paid through the FastEV app, available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Users can top up their FastEV wallet via S Pay Global, credit or debit cards, and other eWallets supported through the Senang Pay payment gateway.

According to TVS, SKJV is a joint venture between Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SEDC) and Karuna, a state-majority-owned company. The joint venture serves as SDEC’s implementation arm to advance smart city commercialisation through integrated technologies including IoT, AI, and smart mobility.

Under the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), SKJV has been entrusted to broaden Sarawak’s EV charging infrastructure across key urban areas. Their goal is to deploy 400 EV chargers by 2030, enabling smooth and reliable intercity travel for EV users throughout the state.
